The American Society of International Law has selected Legitimacy and Legality in International Law, co-authored by Professor Toope as the winner of its 2011 Certificate of Merit for Creative Scholarship.
On the recommendation of the selection committee, the Society provides annual awards in recognition of excellence in the field of international law. The Certificate of Merit for Creative Scholarship is one of the Society’s three Certificates of Merit, and is presented in recognition of a “preeminent contribution to creative scholarship.”
The award will be presented on 25 March 2011 in Washington, DC and will be accepted by Professor Jutta Brunnée, co-author of the book.
