New Centre for Brain Research and Patient Care

The University of British Columbia will be the home for the new Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health, expected to open in 2013.

The 11 October groundbreaking was attended by provincial and federal representatives. Both governments provided significant funding in support of the new Centre, which is named for Vancouver philanthropist Djavad Mowafaghian, whose foundation donated $15 million for the project.

Prof. Toope’s speech from this event is available on line. For more information on the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health, please see the Public Affairs webpage.
