I am delighted to announce that the UBC Board of Governors has approved the reappointment of Dr. David Farrar as Provost and Vice-President, Academic for a second five-year term, effective Sept 1, 2012.
Dr. Farrar brings an energetic, consultative, forthright approach to his position. His first term was marked by a careful building and development of strategies in the academic portfolio, leaving him ready to fully implement these vital agendas in his second term. David was commended for his passion for teaching and learning. He is recognized as one of the most influential Provosts in Canada.
The Board was impressed by the broad scope of Dr. Farrar’s contributions over his time at UBC and the high regard in which he is held. In approving his reappointment, the Board acknowledged that Dr. Farrar has been an innovative member of the administration, and has done much to enhance the academic environment and agenda at UBC.
