As you know, UBC has come together to undertake many transformational changes over the past year.
Not only have we continued to adapt to the challenges and opportunities the pandemic has posed, we also have made the leap to new enterprise systems to support our work in Human Resources, Finance Operations, and maintenance and asset management.
Our great community of faculty, staff and students have persevered through the hard work and change these new systems have required.
The next phase of our system infrastructure renewal will be in our student information ecosystem.
The Integrated Renewal Program – Student team has been approved to implement Workday Student as the anchor of our larger student ecosystem. The project will include changes to many systems we use to support our students, with a goal to implement for the 2023/24 academic year.
This renewal will provide much-needed security and stability to our student system environment.
It will provide the reliable, modern, digital experience needed for UBC to deliver its academic mission.
And it will open the door to innovation and greater data-driven insights we can use to better serve our students.
Transitioning to new ways of working is a significant challenge, and one that UBC has already proven it can accomplish. We must continue to work together as we seek to maximize the benefits of our new student system environment. The resourcefulness and determination of our whole community will continue to be needed to achieve success.
You can learn more at the IRP Student Town Hall on September 29 from 3 to 4 p.m.
You will hear from UBC leadership and learn more about the university’s journey to a new student information ecosystem. The event will also give you a first look at Workday Student and provide an opportunity for questions and answers.
