I am delighted to announce that the UBC Board of Governors has reappointed Mr. Pierre Ouillet Vice-President, Finance, Resources and Operations, for a five-year term starting January 1, 2014. Mr. Ouillet has had one previous term that commenced January 1, 2009.
The Board noted that Mr. Ouillet brings an energetic, consultative and strategic approach to his position. His term has been marked by a careful building of financial accountability practices across the university, implementing transparent budget systems and an integrated distributed financial support model. Pierre was commended for his passion and support of the academic mission of the University. He is recognized as one of the most influential financial leaders in Canada in higher education.
The Board was impressed by Mr. Ouillet’s contributions over his time at UBC and the high regard in which he is held. In approving his reappointment, the Board acknowledged that Mr. Ouillet has been an innovative member of the University leadership, and has done much to implement Place and Promise: the UBC Plan, and to enhance the financial and operational practices at UBC.
